Rainbow Moonstone Beads

Rainbow Moonstone beads are a variety of Labradorite named after the location it was founded, the Labrador coast of Canada. It is known for its shiller or labradorescense in vivid metallic tints of blue, green and yellow.  The phenomenon of labradorescense is caused by interference of light from alternating microscopic lattice distortions. Rainbow Moonstone body color is white translucent to a colorless transparent hue and deposits are found in Canada, Australia, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA.
