Citrine beads are the transparent golden yellow variety of Quartz. Gems are mined in Brazil, Madagascar, Russia and Spain. Natural Citrine deposits are found with Amethyst formations due to the earth's heat changing the purple quartz (amethyst) into a yellow quartz (citrine). Citrine derives its name from the French word `Citron` meaning yellow. Citrine has been a favorite gem of royalty for centuries and is one of our favorites, too.
