Our Amazonite is an opaque gemstone displaying green, blue to greenish blue hues with a faint sheen and grid like white streaks. Amazonite is mined in Brazil, Norway, Madagascar, Russia and Pikes Peak, Colorado. Amazonite derived its name from the Amazon Rainforest when gemologists confused the stone with another gem common to the Amazon region.
