African Opal Beads are generally beige with darker beige or brown mottling and veining. It is also found in various shades of white, yellow, brown and green. Opal receives their name from the Sanskrit word `upala` meaning stone or precious stone. The make-up of this stone is controversial as no one mineral makes up the gem material.
